Miramar Beach Essentials: Groceries, Pharmacies, Urgent Care and the ER Near Scenic Gulf Drive, Sandestin and Grand Boulevard

Written Wednesday, October 14, 2026. Each address below comes from the business’s own store or location page, or from the source linked next to it, as of that date. Hours can change, especially in the weeks after Hurricane Isaias, so call ahead before you drive over.

Once you’ve checked in, your next questions are usually practical: where’s the grocery store, where can I fill a prescription, and where do I go if someone gets hurt? This guide answers those for Miramar Beach. It’s organized by type of stop, and every listing uses the address the business itself publishes.

First, where Miramar Beach is (and why your GPS may say “Destin” or “Sandestin”)

  • County and location: VISIT FLORIDA describes Miramar Beach as a Gulf Coast community in unincorporated Walton County, about seven miles east of downtown Destin along US 98, at the westernmost end of South Walton. Destin itself is in Okaloosa County, so crossing the county line west of Miramar Beach puts you in a different county’s jurisdiction.
  • Two parallel roads: US 98 (also signed as Emerald Coast Parkway) is the main east–west highway. Scenic Gulf Drive runs closer to the water and is where the main public beach access, Miramar Beach Regional Access at 2375 Scenic Gulf Drive, is located. Our parking and beach access guide covers that side.
  • Grand Boulevard and Sandestin: Grand Boulevard’s directions page places the town center on the north side of US 98, about 8 miles past the Okaloosa/Walton County line if you’re driving east from Destin.
  • Mailing names vary: Many Miramar Beach businesses use ZIP code 32550, but they don’t all use the same town name. Publix lists its Grand Boulevard store as “Sandestin, FL 32550,” Emerald Coast Urgent Care lists “Destin, FL 32550,” and CVS and Ascension use “Miramar Beach, FL 32550.” If an address won’t pin correctly, search the street address with ZIP 32550.

Groceries

  • Publix at Grand Boulevard, 725 Grand Blvd. (store #885). Its store page lists a deli, bakery, seafood, produce, wine and beer, and an in-store Publix Pharmacy, with curbside pickup and Instacart. Store phone: (850) 622-2326.
  • Whole Foods Market Destin, 4402 Legendary Dr., Destin, FL 32541, at Destin Commons. It’s west of Miramar Beach on the Okaloosa County side. Store page; phone (850) 269-7400.

If you’re planning a big first-night stock-up, the Grand Boulevard Publix is also near the restaurants and shops covered in our Grand Boulevard day guide.

Pharmacies

  • CVS, 130 Scenic Gulf Drive, Miramar Beach. Its store page lists the store as open 24 hours. The pharmacy keeps shorter posted hours and closes for lunch from 1:30 to 2 p.m., so check before a late-night prescription run.
  • CVS, 60 S. Holiday Rd., Miramar Beach. Store page.
  • Publix Pharmacy at Grand Boulevard, inside the 725 Grand Blvd. Publix. Pharmacy phone: (850) 622-3772 (Publix page).
  • Walgreens, 34909 Emerald Coast Pkwy., Destin. Its locator page describes the store as at the northwest corner of the Mid-Bay Bridge and the highway, which is handy if you’re coming or going over the bridge. Phone: (850) 654-7291.

Urgent care (non-emergency)

  • Emerald Coast Urgent Care, 12598 Emerald Coast Parkway (listed as “Destin, FL 32550”). Its clinic page says walk-ins are welcome and posts winter hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and summer hours of 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Phone: (850) 654-8878.
  • Ascension Sacred Heart urgent care: In its October 13 storm update, Ascension Sacred Heart said all of its urgent care locations across Northwest Florida were open again for non-emergency care. It points patients to GetSacredHeartCare.com to find the nearest one.

Hospital and emergency room

  • Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast, 7800 US 98, Miramar Beach, FL 32550. Main phone (850) 278-3000. Its location page describes 24/7 emergency care for adults and children, and its emergency care page says it is a Primary Stroke Center. In the same October 13 update, Ascension said all of its Northwest Florida hospitals, including emergency services, remained open and operational.
  • For a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go directly to the nearest emergency room, as Ascension’s own pages advise.

Post-storm notes for mid-October 2026

  • Hurricane Isaias made landfall near Destin on the evening of Friday, October 9. As of the morning of October 14, the National Hurricane Center reported no tropical cyclones and said none were expected to form over the next seven days.
  • Sandestin’s Storm Center (updated October 13) says the resort is open and operational and began accepting new arrivals October 13, with tennis and pickleball closed until further notice.
  • Store and clinic hours are the most likely things to change during recovery. Call the number listed above before you go, especially for pharmacy pickups.

A simple plan for arrival day

  1. Save the ER address (7800 US 98) and Emerald Coast Urgent Care’s number in your phone before you need them.
  2. Do your big grocery run at the Grand Boulevard Publix, and transfer any prescriptions you’ll need to a nearby pharmacy before you leave home.
  3. Check the beach flag guide before your first swim. Water safety starts with knowing the flag.
