The Mattie Kelly Arts Center at Northwest Florida State College is staging Meredith Willson’s The Music Man, the Tony Award-winning musical about fast-talking salesman Harold Hill, who sells River City on a boys’ band he never plans to organize until he falls for Marian, the town librarian. MKAC calls it family-friendly, with songs like “Seventy-Six Trombones,” “Trouble” and “Till There Was You.”
Niceville is across Choctawhatchee Bay from Destin. Grand Boulevard’s own directions page describes the Mid-Bay Bridge, a toll bridge, as the link between the Niceville side (State Road 20) and US 98, so plan your route and give yourself some extra time.
Confirm before you go: the Mattie Kelly Arts Center’s event page listed this event as scheduled when we checked on October 14, 2026, five days after Hurricane Isaias made landfall near Destin. Recovery work is still under way in parts of the area, so check the organizer’s page for changes before you head out.
MKAC has been updating its listings since the storm. It marked its October 10 Dogs Bands and Beer Festival as postponed, but showed no change for this performance as of October 14.
