Hotel Effie’s Ovide restaurant hosts a Polar Express-themed holiday tea on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The menu includes tea sandwiches, snacks, desserts and a hot chocolate bar where kids can build their own cocoa. Performers from Emerald Coast Theatre stage a live “Hot Chocolate” number inspired by the film’s train-car scene.

There are only two seatings, so book ahead through the hotel’s event page. Here Comes Santa Claus at Baytowne Wharf is the same day, so families staying in Sandestin can make a full holiday day of it.

Confirm before you go: Hotel Effie’s event page listed this event as scheduled when we checked on October 23, 2026, fourteen days after Hurricane Isaias made landfall near Destin.
