The Sandestin Gumbo Festival returns to Baytowne Wharf for its 38th year. Gulf Coast restaurants compete for the title of best gumbo on the Emerald Coast. Celebrity judges pick the top prize, and festival-goers vote for a People’s Choice winner. Live music and kids’ activities run through the afternoon.
Baytowne is inside the Sandestin resort, a short drive from the Scenic Gulf Drive condos. Tickets haven’t been released yet, so keep an eye on sandestingumbofestival.com and the Baytowne calendar for the on-sale date.
Confirm before you go: The Village of Baytowne Wharf’s calendar listed this event as scheduled when we checked on October 26, 2026, seventeen days after Hurricane Isaias made landfall near Destin. Most of the area has reopened, but schedules can still shift during recovery, so check the organizer’s page before you head out.
